Taking an Intergenerational Approach to Healing

Utilizing the concept of the "looking glass self," this training aims to enhance the healing of the BIPOC community by better understanding and assessing for the clients' sense of self through their family history. Many BIPOC individuals experience chronic marginalization in society, which directly impacts their mental and emotional well-being. Through thorough assessments, a culturally humble approach and a trauma-informed focus, therapists can help break generational pains while empowering clients to live more authentic and fulfilling lives.
